Allison Kreiger
*Miss Florida 2006*
Allison Kreiger, Miss Florida 2006, is a cum laude graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in Public Relations.
At UF, she was the 2004-2005 Captain of the University of Florida Gatorettes; Student Government Senator; a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority;
and the recipient of the 2005 Susan B. Anthony Award for the promotion of opportunities, rights and the advancement of women.
In July 2006, Allison was selected as one of 24 Finalists from a field of 1000 nominees for the 2006 eWomenNetwork.com Emerging Leaders International Femtor Award presented in Dallas, Texas.
This award recognizes women for their leadership abilities, accomplishments and commitment to serving others.
She was the recipient of the Miss Florida Community Service Award and the Miss America State Community Service Award in 2006.
In 2007, Allison received the Young Woman of Distinction Award from the Girl Scouts Citrus Council.
Allison was honored in 2008 as the National Eating Disorders Association Youth Advocate of the Year and the Women's Executive Council's Emerging New Young Leader of the Year.
She is the President/Founder of H.O.P.E. – Helping Other People Eat, a 501c3 organization that focuses on the prevention and awareness of eating disorders. She was recently selected as the Chairwoman of the National Jr. Board for the National Eating Disorders Association. In addition to her lobbying with the Eating Disorders Coalition on Capital Hill, Allison has spoken to over 25,000 people about the dangers of eating disorders. She also started Pageants Pants- an initiative through HOPE and NEDA to encourage people to "Be Comfortable In Your Genes- Don't Fight Your Genes, Just Change Your Jeans." Since 2006, over 5,000 pair of jeans have been collected and donated to charities in need.
Allison started her own public relations company, Allison Kreiger, Inc., and currently works for the Miss America's Outstanding Teen Organization as the Director of Communications.
She serves as the Downtown Facilitator for WOAMTEC- Women On A Mission To Earn Commission.
She is a print model for Titania Golf for Women and a fit model for Jovani in Atlanta, Las Vegas and New York. Allison also enjoys being the spokesmodel for Toyota of Bastrop, LA!
Allison held the local titles of Miss UF 2002, Miss Seminole County 2003, Miss Ocala/Marion County 2004 and Miss Miami 2006. She won the 2006 Miss Florida title on July 8, 2006, her 23rd birthday and has logged over 80,000 miles in her travels as Miss Florida this year in 250+ appearances. She was a special guest at the Inauguration of Governor Crist; attended the Elton John Academy Awards Party in L.A. to Benefit Aids; spent Valentine’s Day with the Disabled Veterans at the VA Hospital in Miami; visited with children at Florida Children’s Hospital in Orlando; was a featured speaker to 300 Girl Scouts at Uniquely Me! in Fort Lauderdale; spoke to middle school children throughout Florida on the importance of making good decisions; emceed pageants statewide and the list continues.
